Question:

How do I understand my Graduation Test scores?

I took my OGT (Ohio Graduation Test), and I have the scores, but how do I know if they're good scores? Is there some kind of scale or something, or number needed to pass that I can see so I know if my scores were good or not?

Also, what's the difference between "raw score" and "scale score"??

  1. I took mine 2 years ago (I'm a graduating senior) and how much it's changed in the past 2 years ago, I'm not really sure.

When I got my scores, there was a little booklet that would show you things like the scores (ex. 425) to get in each of the 5 ranges. It had a bar in this to show where you placed and also how other test-takers across the state did as well. If you didn't get this booklet from your school when you got the scores, try and get it from the school.

I think for all 5 tests I took, the passing score was 400 in each section. I'm not totally sure how much it changed, but it's probably still 400.

I know they've been talking about making a new graduation test that would wear my brain out after the first problem (and I still remember how I felt 2/3 of the way through the reading section of my OGT - I wanted to go to bed right then).
