Question:

How do I unlock my 94 Blazer with the only set of keys in the ignition with it on, the remote won't work

My truck automatically locks the doors after it has started. I came home from work, shut the truck off then restarted it, got out and shut the door. With the ignition switch on the keyless entry remote won't work, I do have the hood open as I was checking and adding tranny fluid was the reason I restarted it after stopping, I pulled the coil wire to kill it then disconnected the battery. I reconnected the battery to try the remote but no luck. Do the wires for the rear hatch release happen to run down the chasis or are they under the carpet? It is a fullsize Blazer by the way

  1. Time is money call a toy truck company and have them open the car for you.. Chevrolets have a kinda double link system where you have to pull 2 rods in the door at the same time to unlock the door.  Kinda a pain. Going thru the door with a coat hanger will work BUT usually with ugly scratches and ripped seals..  Get a older BMW where you must use your key to lock the doors.. I lock the keys in American cars all the time.  Lock smiths and tow truck drivers love american cars for this fact.

  2. wow.. im kind of confused on your question... you locked yourself out with the key in the ignition and the car was running?  is that right ? seems hard to do with the 94 ..... but...........if you're not in the seat, the sensor will not read you being there. it should not lock if your not in the seat and the motor is running.. you can reset the computer by taking the positive cabe off for about 20 minutes .if that does not work, you may have issues with the keyless remote or the alarm system thats in the computer.. not really an alarm but a fail-safe thing. they do go bad. if you do have an alarm, disconnect the loom of wire going into it and try that. it should start. i did the same thing with mine. it would not do a thing until i cut the alarm out of the circuit...   the wires are under the carpet in the threshhold under the door sill plate. i hope this helped cause im still a lttle confused on the entire question.. good luck

  3. bust out a winda, and reach in

    pick the lock

    lever the back glass open

  4.   Yeah the remotes don't work with the car running .I guess you found that out the hard way.

Could just call a locksmith. If you try to wedge the glass you could cause a problem with the window rolling up and down. There's a small plastic piece that sits under the window that's easily popped off on the early 94 models.

You may or may not have this on your truck but be careful with it. I believe the ones that do the lock button sits higher on the door panel.
