How do I unlock my memory card?

when i turn my camera on its says

memory card locked

so i switched the switchy thingy

but it STILL didn't work!

WHAT DO I DO?

With your camera off (always off when puting in or pulling out your memory card), open the door for it, then push the memory card down. It should go down a little and pop up a little. Pull it out after it goes up. That's how they usually work. All my digital cameras work that way. Good luck. Read your manual if you have it, to make sure.
