  1. that stuff is caustic,,watch out foryour hands, face and eyes. go buy a red rubber plunger

  2. You can try snaking it yourself.

You can pick one up for short money at your local hardware store.

Please be careful and make sure you're wearing long gloves and goggles.

I can speak from experience that you do not want to get Drano on anything that you care about.

If snaking it doesn't work, you should call a plumber.

Your average DIYer could be in for a world of hurt trying to dissect their own pipes.

And again, in your case, you have to worry about the chemicals you already have in the pipes.

  3. Well a snake is the best way. have you tried a plunger? another question what sink is clogged it actually makes a big difference

  4. A plunger would be first, they are not very expensive.  The second would be a snake, but you can not snake it from the sink.  You must find the nearest access.  If no other fixtures are blocked you will need to remove the trap under the sink.   That requires tools and makes a mess.  If the is not the location of the blockage then you would snake down drain from the open trap.  You decide at which point you hire a plumber.  Good luck.

  5. Whatever you do, BE CAREFUL!  Now that you have the Drano in it, you've got a problem. If you splash it on you it can do damage, especially to your eyes.  Don't go plunging it without some safety googles!

  6. Hey, this works I've tried it. Get a plastic cup (something sorta heavy) and "plunge"  the drain with it. Open side down of course. If there is a greese clog, squirt some DAWN dish liquid soap to the mix. Happy plunging!!

  7. If the water has receded, you could put a pan or bowl under the p-trap, unscrew the 2 nuts and slowly ease the trap down. Then you will most likely find hair and maybe grease above and inside the trap. Clean this out reinstall p-trap and try again. The next step would be where it goes into the wall.

If there is still standing water you would need to dip as much out as possible before removing the trap.
