Question:

How do I unsubscribe from a group based on a forwarded email address?

I subscribed to a group with one email address - that email address was disconnected but has automatic forwarding to my current email address. I want to unsubscribe from the group - but can't because it says that I'm not a part of the list (my previous email account is).

So, I've tried unsubscribing directly, that doesn't work because yahoo says that I'm not a part of the group, I've activated my previous disconnected email as an alternate address and tried to unsubscribe from that email and that won't work either. I've also tried blocking the emails and that won't work either.

Am I doomed to always be a part of this group?

  1. can you not send a e-mail to the owner:

    (Group name)-owner@yahoogroups.com

tell them what has happen and tell them what your e-mail was when you were in that group and see if they can remove you

  2. if you were an e-mail only member, you'd need to send that mail from that e-mail to leave a group.

if you're Yahoo ID was connected to it, e-mail doesn't matter then, log onto the web to your Yahoo ID :

go to this link http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups click edit my groups on the top left- locate group (if there's more than one) under the last column Leave Group, check small box - click save changes
