ok, I don't know sh*t about computers, but my computer is having a hard time loading videos on sites. especially the gametrailers videos. my friends say that I should update my hardwars, software, connection, and whatever. but I have no idea on how to do that. I know nothing about computers at all. I asked my friends, but their answers are far too complicated for me. I just need to know plain and simple, how to update my computer software, hardware, or whatever so that my computer doesn't have such a hard time loading videos online. it has the most trouble with gametrailers videos. I know I sound like a moron asking a question like this, but I just need a plain and simple answer on how to update my computer.

I have the latest flash player, installed, so that isn't the problem, as videos sometimes still do play, just not very well. please, help a computer idiot out here. I don't know anything here.

  1. You've not specified the operating system.  Well most of the sotwares works in windows XP.  You required atleast 512 mb ram for good performance.  So have  512mb ram and a p3 or p4 processor and upgrade the OS to windows xp if you don't have.

    sysadmin

    sysadminindia.com

  2. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all...

Firefox 3 - Ultimate browser - should handle all that you need.

There are MANY possible problems for you. It's really hard to tell.

    1. Defrag your computer

Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter

    2. Your CPU/RAM/Video Card could be very old (8 years+)

    3. Your internet connection is too slow

    4. You have a lot of Spyware/Adware

    Spybot - Search and Destroy

    http://lavasoft.com/single/trialpay.php

    Ad-Aware 2008

These two paired together are very powerful tools.

    5. You may have viruses.

AVG Free is an excellent program for detecting and removing viruses.

This is just a small list, and I'm not sure I could figure out your exact problem without seeing your computer, but good luck.

  3. Update your computers and get a nice browser such as Mozilla firefox. http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefo...

You can set updates your Operating System by right clicking My computer on the desktop, go to property, select automatic updates. When you turn on Automatic Updates.  Windows routinely checks the Windows Update Web site for high-priority updates that can help protect your computer from the latest viruses and other security threats. These updates can include security updates, critical updates, and service packs. Depending on the setting you choose, Windows automatically downloads and installs any high-priority updates that your computer needs, or notifies you as these updates become available. You can update your drivers from manufacturers' website..

If your computer has to slow to load videos, you can download Ccleaner, a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes cookies, Internet Explorer Cache, History, Cookies, Index.dat. or unused and temporary files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster, more efficiently and giving you more hard disk space. http://www.filehippo.com/download_cclean...

    Or you can download antivirus

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_avg_an...

    or adware. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ad-awa...

If all those did not work, all you gotta do is

A- try to defragment your hard drive to see possible fragemted files

I hope all will help.. Good luck

  4. Unless we know more about your machine we can only make wild and possibly dangerous guesses. A machine with an older (slower) CPU (processor), or low on RAM, currently 2GB RAM is good, a slow internet connection (normally 2Mbps or more is best) or spyware or virus infections will all affect the performance. Always go for the spyware and virus scan first, the most powerful machine will crawl if infected. If you are really in doubt, it may be worth downloading and installing different security software. AVG free from http://free.grisoft.com is good. Update it and then run a scan in safe mode. Press F8 during the boot to get safe mode. Other than this we really should not advise you until we know more about the machine.
