How do I upload a .VOB file? Or turn it into .wmv?

Question

I recorded my brother coming home from Iraq on my camera...put the disk in my computer. I put the video on my Windows Photo Gallery; however I cant upload it on photobucket or myspace because it only says .wmv, .mov, etc etc, tons and tons of types of video files All except .vob.

I hope I explained that correctly. How do I get this video so that I can show my family?
