How do I upload a .txt to the webserver?

Use either your account's File Manager and the online file uploader utility or, if your account allows use of a FTP program, then get the FTP address of where your site is located on the hosting server, use something like SmartFTP, enter ftp address, UserName and PW and click connect.  FTP program should open in the root directory where your home page is.  If not, browse in the Remote Pane to the public html files. Once correct directory is found where you want the file, then either drag and drop from Local Pane into Remote Pane or highlight file in Local Pane and click to upload.
