How do I upload a video on my video cam but is on a mini dv onto my computer so that I can put it on youtube?

miniDV vcam w/ DV port for firewire cable . If your OS is XP,

you can try to capture video stream from vcam to pc via bundled video editing app - XP windows movie maker.

CAPTURE

a.) Connect vcam to pc via firewire (4 or 6 pin) for good transfer

b.) Set vcam mode to playback desired video, adjust settings for capture, then pause

c.) Open Windows Movie Maker and set to TASKS PANE

d.) In wmm/ Tasks pane/CAPTURE VIDEO, click CAPTURE from video device; wmm should be able to control vcam operations. On play, video files are copied to wmm/COLLECTION (usually several video files, although will not notice during vcam playback)

EDIT (drag & drop files) to make the movie as a project; enhance w/transitions-effects-subtitles-music

FINISH (render / save) movie in the desired video file format

You will need to connect your camcorder to your pc via the firewire port. A window will appear, I recommend you close this window and open Windows Movie Maker, and click "capture form video device", the fallow the instructions.
