  1. when you plug it in dont press sync ipod just drag the song you want from your itunes library into you ipod folder that pops  up.

  2. that'ss happened to me!! i hated it!!! most likely, wut i had, is that i had 2 accounts. so go to the account that has all ur songs on itunes. then keep downloading songs to that account. be careful, because u might get confused. U CAN ONLY DELETE SONGS IF U MAKE NEW ACCOUNTS>

  3. make sure that you have all the play lists that you want on your iPod checked.

  4. Use Itunes to add the music to what you currently have.  If you are using a different computer, you have no choice to erase what is there if you want to put music on the IPOD.  I have used sharepod with great success.  It allows any computer to read your IPOD as an additional drive without going through Itunes.

  5. Thats NOT what's meant to happen the ipod is a slave device to one computer only..(but a computer can have many ipod paired to it)

When you PAIR an iPod with a computer it erases all songs on it!!! and deletes pairing with original computer.

    Sharing music is also illegal!

You cannot transfer music from an ipod to itunes as Itunes is the MASTER location of the music files. if you NEED to transfer music form your ipod to the computer as you have lost the original you need a 3rd party application (I use Yamipod for mac) but a whole range can be found on www.versiontracker.com and enter ipod transfer in the search box under your operating system.

once you have the utility installed run it and close itunes! connect the ipod (if itunes starts up and asks if you want to pair say NO and close itunes again). then with the utility transfer the songs form the ipod to your hard disk.

Then disconnect the ipod, START itunes... drop the files you have just transferred onto the itunes Library and once the files have been copied into the library you can delete the originals (NEVER MOVE or touch the itunes folder on your computer otherwise you will lose the music let itunes manage it for you).

Now reconnect the ipod and when it asks pair say YES and it will transfer the music to your computer.

if doing this with 2 computers you have to do this on both!!

  6. Open the summary bit of your ipod in itunes, and check, 'manually manage music'

  7. just connect your ipod to your computer, pull up itunes, and drag the songs you want from your itunes library onto the ipod icon on the left side of itunes

  8. it wont erase it unless you dont hav the songs on itunes if thats the case, its impossible.

  9. i know its hard and annoying because itunes/apple doesn't want us sharing music and ripping it right onto our ipods with any friends' computer itunes library.  heres how you can do it: UNCHECK to sync your ipod to your library automatically, you are doing it manually now. press sync your computer and ipod so now your ipod should be empty.  now click on the library tab of itunes and drag any songs individually onto the ipod tab".  it takes long to drag each song, but this is the only way to do what you asked. then, when you have access to any other library such as a friends, attach it to their comp via usb cable, and drag any of their songs over you want for free!! thats song freedom right there.

  10. hey,

well you go on the same computer you already had all the music on and you put your card #i in or your credit card and buy the songs!!

    Good Luck

    and dont do it illegally
