How do I upload pictures from my digital camera to my mac?

I plugged in my digital camera to my macbook through a USB cord but nothing pops up to help me upload the picture. what do i do?

Same thing here, I just uploaded pictures in the camera (Olympus) to my computer, and it was a big production. None of the regular USB connections worked, Olympus has its own bigger (6pins and longer) connection.

Since you pretty much hurdled that one,  the next trouble shooting tip I can give you is 1. Did you turn the power on on your camera? The process does not start until you turn the effing power on. I learned that a while ago in all  digital cameras I ever owned.

Sorry  I also got stymied by that. We all have gotten past that.

Next thing is the command to your computer to recognize the camera as a portable source of some kind of memory card. If your computer has a card reader, it should be ok for it to  install a driver. I am not familiar with macs, but other than a driver, the only other thing that stands in your way is a photo reading software.  Microsoft photoshop (yup, sadly I use windows) opens graphic files , and so does irfanview and others (paintbrush etc, adobe, etc).

You may have to open the files under DCLIM. They're there, just be patient..

If you have no patience, bring your camera into a shop that would copy all pictures and burn them into a cd etc.

You can do it yourself. The first time you try is always the hardest. Spend at least an hour trying. Then give up and call a friend over who has done it before to show you how.

Then treat this friend for a beer and burger.

Did you use the cord that your digital camera came with?  If you did iPhoto should open up automatically and your screen on your camera should go black with words (not sure what it says but it always does that when it's hooked up to upload)  If it doesn't open then try opening iPhoto yourself.
