How do I use 7-Zip...?

I just downloaded 7-Zip. I have no idea what to do now. I want to extract a .rar file. How do I find the file and what do I do once I do find it?

I'll try to help.  I just figured this out less than 2 minutes ago, so maybe my solution will work.

1) Download the .rar file you want (make sure it's a place you can find, like a folder, or easier yet, the Desktop).

2) Right click on the .rar file that you have downloaded.

3) There should be some options that pop up.  Hover over the one that says 7-Zip

4) From 7-Zip, there should be another list of options.  Click on "Extract files..."

5) Click OK on the box that pops up (or change the destination by clicking on the '...' to the right of the file name).

6) A new folder should appear shortly with the contents of the .rar file, and you can click on it and open it.

I did this for images, mind you, and I'm on Windows Vista.  I don't know if it's different for different files/operating systems.
