How do I use Remote Desktop Connection to access my Windows XP from my Mac?

I need help? I downloaded Remote Desktop Connection to Mac and my Windows Xp already has it. How do i get it to work-- in simple terms or steps please!!

Make sure that you are accepting the connections on your PC.

Got to start, right click on my computer, click properties

There should be a tab called Remote (or something similar)

Make sure you are allowing connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop.

I'm running vista, but I have a giant XP book, I am going to check that now for the official instructions... this is how I got my remote desktop to work from my mac to vista

EDIT: This is what I dug up:

From System properties, go to the remote tab. Click "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer"

Click "Select Remote Users" make sure there are no names in the list. Apply your settings.

If this doesn't work, make sure you have a password on your windows account. Apparently you can only connect to accounts with passwords for added security (microsoft's idea).

If it still does not work, and you use Windows Firewall, do this:

Go to the Network Connection Folder, right click on the connection you use and click properties.

Click the Advanced tab and click Settings

Select Remote Desktop in the Advanced Settings dialog box.

If you use a hardware firewall (eg a modem one) or a different software (eg Norton Internet Security), make sure you are allowing incoming access to TCP port 3389.

EDIT 2: Once on the mac, either enter the name of the computer (eg admin-pc or something like that, can be found under the general tab in System Properties) or enter the ip address (eg 192.168.x.x). This can be found by going into a command prompt and entering ipconfig

EDIT 3: Credentials are your username and password for the PC. If you do not have a password on the PC, it may not connect for the reason I mentioned above
