How do I use a second analog to digital converter box to record one channel while watching another?

I have 2 rabbit ear antenas and 2 analog to digital converter boxes.

The back of each converter box has:

"ANTENA IN",

"TV OUT" ,

"VIDEO" (yellow/white/red).

The back of the VCR has:

"OUT" (yellow/white/red),

"IN-1" (yellow/white/red),

"IN FROM ANT",

"OUT TO TV".

The back of the TV has:

"IN VIDEO 1" (yellow/white/red - used for the DVD),

"IN VIDEO 2" (yellow/white/red + green/blue/red),

"OUT" (yellow/white/red),

"ANT".

What do I connect to what in order to:

1) Not having to set up the converter to the channel being recorded.

2) Be able to record mulitple chanels

3) Record one chanel while watching another

To what chanels do the TV and VCR have to be set up? To "3" or to "Line"?

Thank you!!!!

  1. Since you only have one VCR, you can only record one channel at a time.

Connect Box-1 to VCR (Line 1) and use it as your "recording"  tuner - Connect VCR to TV via yellow in video 2

Connect Box-2 to TV via the RF input (ch 3 in ANT) and use it as your "Live" tuner.

Unless your VCR  has some form of an IR transmitter to switch the channels of your Box-1, I don't see how you can automatically start a recording without manually change the channel in Box-1.
