  1. make it easy for yourself and buy a nas drive

  2. make sure both the laptops are in same work group. then share folder no the laptop from which you want to copy the data. then on the second laptop type \\laptop1(name of laptop) in run the shared folder will be displayed in explorer. copy files from that then remove the sharing.

  3. Both computers have to be in the same work group name to see the share.

    right click my computer

    properties

    computer name

    change

make the workgroup name identical on both pc's.

Once you do that, create a shared folder on computerA.

    my computer

    drive c

    make a folder 'shared'

    right click on 'shared'

    sharing and security

allow network users to change my files

    ok.

    On computerB:

    start

    run

    \\computera

should show the shared folder and be able to access it.

If access denied, turn on the guest account on computera.
