  1. Use some in your spaghetti water -- and say a prayer to the FSM.  May He bless you with His noodly appendage!

  2. You can put it in the four corners of your home.

Typically, I would use sage to cleanse my home and sea salt to cleanse myself, in the bath.

But if you really want to use sea salt, you could make blessing water with it and spray it around the home.

Having lots of plants in the house and opening up all the windows now and again, helps to move stagnant energy out and promote positive energy.

    *edit*

The answer above me is how I cleanse my own place.  :)  I always follow up with an incense after smudging because I think that sometimes the smudge gets rid of stuff and then there is a void left over. So the incense fills that void with positivity. I like to use Vanilla, or red Ginger...something like that. :)

  3. Although you can use sea salt, my "cleanser" of choice is  sage smudge because the smoke can get into all the nooks and cranny's in your home (nothing can hide from the smoke).  A sage smudge will rid your house of all negativity.  For good measure, after the sage smudging, you can then burn some white cedar and/or sweet grass, as they promote positive energy.

  4. The best practice is to hold the salt in your hands and feel positive energy flowing through your hands and into the salt. Let the salt absorb this energy. For proper cleansing, you should start at the front door and go widdershins (counter-clockwise) around the house and sprinkle a pinch of salt in every corner of every room. You may also wish to sprinkle the windowsills and over the door jambs. At the front and back door, sprinkle salt over the threshold, as well. If you are able to, open all of the windows before you do this and close them after you pass by them.
