First off, fire up the Remote on your iPod. When it says it can't connect to an iTunes library, it will give you a 4-digit PIN number to type into iTunes. While your iPod is still on that screen, go to iTunes on your computer. Your iPod should show up in the Devices menu and when you click on it, you will find a screen to type the PIN.

After that, you can select your iTunes library from your iPod and control it as if it was the normal Music menu on your iPod!
