How do I use the /? thingy in HTML code in a link so that I know what ad someone one replied to?

Hi! My friend is running a couple of ads and people will click a link to a website. Someone told him to make the links different so that when he tracks the response, he knows from what ezine the person saw and clicked his ad from. He was told something about adding a "/?" or somethng to the end of the link, and then typing the ezine name (or any code he wants). Does anyone know the proper format of this code? Thank you!

  1. I think I know what you mean. When you want more information from a link you can add some 'get' arguments to the url which follow the ? in the url like so:

    normal url: http://www.some-website.com/index.php

    mod. url: http://www.some-website.com/index.php?ti...

and you can add more than one argument:

    http://www.some-website.com/index.php?ti...

in your friend's case it will be something like:

    http://www.some-website.com/index.php?ez...
