How do I verify the ESN number on my Instinct is clean?

Do I just call Sprint? I think it is clean, but I'm trying to sell it and everyone keeps asking me about it.

Also, which series of numbers is the ESN? S/N?

I would assume that they mean that the ESN is not currently activated on anyones phone number. (ie. stolen)

You can call sprint. If the phone was never reported stolen then yes the ESN is clean.  Also you wouldn't have been able to activate it if it wasn't clean.  For the numbers just lift off you cell phone battery and it will say which number is which.
