How do I view computer screen on television set?

I don't know what I need to hook my computer up to my television. I have an Acer Aspire AST690-UP925A and a Samsung TV. I want to be able to play a movie from my computer on my television and am completely lost on how to do it.

The first answer about putting the monitor on top of the T.V. is epic and I wish I would have thought about that first.

You should be able to use a TPU45-RJ jack.  I have had the same problem and this jack solved everything.  Best of luck :)

You will need to buy a cable for it if it's compatable

Get a video output off of amazon. or any electronics store...most don't have them though but definitely try Amazon.com

It depends whether or not your TV has a VGA input.  If it doesn't, then you'll need some sort of converter.  Check with Radio Shack.

make sure the tv you got can have the cables that connect. then go to best buy and buy the cables. connect it and enjoy!!

you have to have a adapter that has a plug on one end like the outlets on your computer and one end with the 3 prongs like when you plug in a dvd player
