How do I view screen shots I take on my desktop?

I have windows XP

Where are they saved, or how can i save them as Jpegs?

  1. Screenshots are kept on the 'clipboard'. Move the cursor out of the way or it will be included in your shot.  Open 'paint' > 'edit' > 'paste' to display the shot; then in 'File' > 'Save as...' > put it where ever you want.  It will be a bitmap, but can be converted with another image editing application; I use 'Irfanview' (freeware) which also does many other things.  A versatile & handy tool.


  2. there is a button on the upper right hand corner of the keyboard called "Print Scr". press that and then open up a word document or Paint and hit Ctrl V to paste it on the document.

  3. The screen shots are actually stored in your RAM, so don't shut off the PC just yet. You can open Microsoft Paint, paste the pic in there, edit it, and then save it in JPEG format.
