School starts on Tuesday and for the past 2-3 months I've been going to bed at around 2 am and waking up at 11 am. For school I have to wake up at 6:30 and I tried going to bed at 12 am just an hour or two earlier and it was useless I just laid there for an hour or two. How do I wake up in time for school all rested with enough sleep?

  1. I had relatively the same problem.  I was going to bed at 2 am as well, and waking up so late.  I knew that I always felt tired around 10 pm, but if I could push past that I would stay up until at least 2.  So I just started going to bed at 10 when the initial tired kick would hit. And I was able to get up really early.

  2. Get a really loud alarm clock and go to bed at a decent hour I promise you won't miss anything.

  3. You need to get used to a new schedule.

First, buy a louder alarm.  Put it all the way across the room, so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. In other words, do whatever it takes to wake up.

Second, you need to reschedule yourself, your sleep cycles.  Find a way, no matter what it takes to get up at 630am, no matter what.  Do that 2-3 times in a row, and I guarantee it'll  be easier to get to sleep on time.

Then go to bed, with a few exceptions, and get up at the same time all the time.

  4. It is going to take some time to get back in to a good sleep pattern.

Try to exert yourself in the daytime more to be more tired.

  5. I think the problem will take care of itself.  Go to bed at a reasonable hour and get up at 6:30.  DO NOT allow yourself to take a nap the following afternoon.  Stay awake, no matter how hard, until bedtime.  Then go to bed.  After one or two days and nights of this, you will be on a better schedule.

  6. Maybe take a shower before you go to sleep, it is said that it will help you relax. Once you start waking up at 6:30, you will be going to bed earlier because you will be more tired. You just have to get your body used to it.

  7. Well, going to bed at 12am is just plain stupid.

try going to bed at 9.30pm like an ordinary human.

This way you get 9 hours of sleep instead of 6

  8. Try going to bed at 2 and waking up at 6:30 in the morning. Do stuff that will keep you active. So when you go to sleep you'll be exhausted.

Listening to music always helps me go to sleep too. Reading boring books help. lol Just keep a dim light near by and you'll go to sleep sure enough.  If none of this works just close your eyes and try not to thing about anything practical.   For a tip next year try not staying up as late.

    Hope I Helped,

  9. Anxiety will probably keep you awake the night before your first day of school.

Don't sweat it ... just get along until your body readjusts its circadian rhythms.
