How do I walk away from a brother who is all about self?

Well, although you didn't give much detail, I think I may know what you are going through.  My brother is also very much about self, and I am very much the opposite.  I think that he really takes advantage of it.  He wasn't working for a while,and I know what that's like, so I would give him a couple hundred dollars a week.  I didn't expect him to pay me back, but he never even offered.  On occasion after he started working again, I would ask just for $20 here or there and he would usually deny me.  Recently, he got himself into a situation where he needed to borrow money again, and I thought I made myself clear that this was actually BORROWING, not giving.  When I asked him for the money back, though, he said that he couldn't give it to me because he's trying to "save his money!"  More like save MY money!

Those are just some of my bigger, more annoying issues, not all of it is about money, he's just a very selfish boy.  Regardless, its hard to turn your back on family no matter what.  I haven't actually given this a shot yet, but I plan on asking him for more help with other things to try and appeal to his generous side, that I'm not really sure that he has.  I would rather teach him to be kind than have to stop being kind to him, I love the a*****e! But if that doesn't work, I'm afraid I'm just going to have to be more stern.  I couldn't dream of just cutting him out of my life, but its important to let people like that know that you won't be taken advantage of!
