Question:

How do I warm food up in the oven that has already been cooked?

It is baked chicken that I want to warm up in the oven. It's been in the refrigerator all night. I want to heat it up for dinner in the oven, not the microwave. What temperature should I put the oven on so that I can just warm it up without drying it out? Also for how long?

Thanks in advance :-)

  1. Cover it with foil at about 200/225 degrees.  If it's an average size of chick about 20 minutes should do the trick.  No matter what you do though, it is going to dry out.  How much really depends on how much moisture was left in the chicken after the first cooking was completed.

  2. Cover it with foil and preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Let chicken heat through for approximately 30 minutes and enjoy.

  3. if you have the time, slow is the way to go, put the oven on 250, moisten the chicken with  a few drops of water, cover it, check it after about 25-30 min, sooner if you want, put a meat thermometer in one of the

meatiest pieces, it should read around 120-degrees, .

  4. Covered at low temp., say at or under 325.

  5. When I reheat baked chicken I put it into a Corning Ware Dish with lid - add a small amount of water or broth for moisture.  Preheat oven at 250F and put chicken dish in oven for 30 minutes, I check at 15 minutes to be sure it is not too warm.  FYI:  I like my chicken 'just warm' not ~HOT~ so less than 30 minutes is ideal.  If you preheat the Corning Ware dish with ~HOT~ water before you put in the chicken it warms up faster. Good luck.
