How do I wash a bathing suit? HELP

Question

I just got back from the beach today and I want to wash my white bathing suit..

Can someone explain how to? Do I put it in the wash by itself or put it along with the rest of the whites? Can/should I put some of that liquid soft soap in it? (Huggie's soft soap, or something like that). Oh, and I can dry it right?

Anything else? Thanks so much!! :]

Yeah, no bleach. If you have it, I might put it in a "delicates bag" - like some people do with panties and bras. It should be ok if you don't have one though.

Don't put it in the dryer either. Swim suits air dry faster than most other fabrics, so you don't have to worry about it taking too long and getting a funny smell or anything.

wash it with whites but no bleach.  air dry.

I would first soak it in vinegar and water overnight, just so you won't have any weird green chlorine stains.  (It happened to one of my white bathing suits and i was MORTIFIED lol.)

But after that, just wash it in the laundry like you would normally.  No special instructions.  And when its done, hang it on a hanger to dry.

wash your bathing suite by hand ,soak it in a bit of detergent and cold water ,give it a gentle rub and rinse until the water comes out clean hang to dry.

I use woolite and wash by hand, gently wring it out by hand. Press it in a dry bath towel and then hang it to dry. I usually hang my bathing suit on a pant hanger. This has worked very well for me - I have worn my suit more than 1 season by caring for it this way. Good luck.

You've got some good ideas here.  I soak our swim suits in Chlor-Out, it's used to take the chlorine out of fish tanks.  You can find it in the pet supply section at Wal-Mart, etc.  Then I'd wash it in the washer on gentle setting with Woolite.

Wash it with a mild laundry soap in cold water on delicate wash and air dry.
