Some of the other answers were good, but here is another option.  Use www.logmein.com 's free program on your home computer, then you can remote access that computer from another computer, and do almost everything you could do while there, including turning on and viewing the webcam.

The alternative to #1 is to have a more expensive account with a fixed internet address (not one that changes everytime you use the internet, which is cheaper) so that people can find your camera.

Make an account at Ustream.tv

Broudcast your webcam and go to Ustream.tv/yourusername and you'll see it.
