  1. you don't give much info but you should call an electrician.  I can tell you if you are adding cans I would take the switch leg (14-2 black, white, and bare wire) to the wall switch.  There are many ways to wire an outlet.  The most common will be a 14-2 "feed" going into the switch and "feed outs" may be there also.  There may be a 14-3 black, white, red, bare wires in there too that go to the outlet.  The red is most likely the switch and black hot.  To make the light work you need a switched wire may be red and a neutral wire that should be white.  Tie the black from the can to the red on the switch or outlet. And the white to the other whites in that box.  and it should work with the switch.  Should call an electrician really.

  2. 2 hots & a not..... be sure to shut off the current at the breaker. the wires are color coded. this is not up to code though.good luck!!!!

  3. tie into the wires that go to the switched part of the outlet. but i have to say that if you don't know how to do it already you probably shouldn't do it yourself. ask someone to come over and do it for you or show you. there are other issues to think about.
