I want to witness to people but I have no idea how to approach them and don't know what to say. Any serious suggestions would be appreciated.

  1. This is a very serious matter and God honors you for wanting to tell people about Him and His Son. What I would do is pray and seek God for guidance any a way to draw his people closer to Him. Also I would maybe create some flyers and even cards with a scripture on it and some accurate info about Christ. You will do good on your mission, by witnessing you are considered to be one of Jesus's Disciples!!!!!! I pray that everything goes well for you!!!! God Bless!

  2. Please do not proselytize nonsense to anyone unless you are asked.

  3. just start up a conversation with the person... and try to ease them into the topic... just remember to always be respectful and pay attention to hints they may give if they don't want to talk about it so you aren't seen as forcing it down their throat.. but when you actually are fully in the conversation you can start with your testimony...

  4. Try going to harvest.org for resources. The best way to witness is to tell them your testimony.

Read John 9 for a great example of this.

  5. Live your truth.

It is that simple and that difficult.

There is no better way to intrigue me into asking about why you live as you do and how your faith impacts your life.

EDIT: That glass bead thing is just freak'n creepy! I know Jeanette means well and feels that she is sharing her treasure, but most people I know would be completely turned off by that stunt, even the Christians. I don't mean to be critical. I'm just trying to help. The only people you are going to get with that are the people who were already flying down the fundamentalist path in the first place.

  6. In a courtroom, you might wait until the attorney calls you.  The messiah said, "Do not throw your pearls before swine . . . "

If they *ask you* what you've got, that might be a good time.

  7. You really shouldn't, you should respect their beliefs.

I'm not sure you could possibly imagine how much people of other religions dislike this sort of thing.

Instead, be willing to answer questions and talk about your faith if someone wants to know, but don't try to go forcing it on them.

  8. Live your beliefs and your faith so well that people come to you and ask questions. Otherwise, you're probably just going to be ignored.

  9. I think you're about to witness people here telling you that witnessing is nonsense.

  10. this is what i do... i went to an arts and crafts store and purchased a bag of red glass beads.. they are about the size of a nickle. I keep them everywhere.. in my car, my pocket, my purse, in my children's' pockets :-) . and whenever i come across someone that the Holy Spirit inspires me to speak to, i just hand them a bead. I have given them and people say thank you and i say you are welcome and walk away... some have said, what is this for, and I simply tell them that the red bead represents the blood that Jesus shed on the cross was to cover every sin, even yours. It is a gift that you can choose to accept or not... sometimes is leads to someone accepting Christ as their Savior and sometimes all it does is plant the seed... either way, remember all it takes is a desire no bigger than the size of a mustard seed...

  11. be polite and respectful of the other persons beliefs! try to bring up the subject of religion casually. if they dont give you an idea that they are intrested, dont push! i can handle somebody trying to 'bring me back into the fold' as long as the above guidlines are followed.... otherwise they are likely to get some pretty rude comments!

    good luck!

  12. Just say:  "Hey I see you: you can't HIDE from ME!".

If you have to ask you are not ready to WITNESS to anyone.

  13. Witnessing doesn't mean you have to be out preaching and approaching people to witness.  Witnessing can be done with your actions of being humble and approachable when anyone needs a kind word, a nice jesture, a sincere smile, a helping hand, etc...

During those times of being approachable and listening you would be able to witness the Word of the Lord.

Teaching/witnessing the Word of the Lord with your daily actions speak louder than words.

    GOD BLESS YOU!

  14. What?

    You want to witness people?

You mean you want to stand there while they do something, what ever they choose to do infront of you?

    What are you talking about?

  15. First make sure people are receptive..second if you have a church ask if you could guide a class..you don't always have to speak..living a good life..giving of your time and setting a good example are also ways to witness.

  16. If you try to 'witness' to people you will most likely have the opposite effect to what you intend.

I assume you're a Christian. As far as I'm concerned, the best way to make an impression on anyone is by example. That applies to all beliefs, not just Christianity.
