  1. My father had passed away two years before our wedding, and of course we included his name on the invitation.

    Lisa Marie,

daughter of Frank and Helen Green,

    and

    Mark Henry,

son of Susan Williams and the late Fred Williams,

request the honour of your presence....

  2. I had trouble writing out invitations for our wedding, but I just got on google and typed in wedding invitation formats. There are a lot of places that sell the invitations but if you look into the websites, some of them give you the details on how to write out invitations with everyone, anyone, or someone missing. It was very helpful for me! Here is an example of one of the websites: http://stylishweddingideas.com/articles/...

  3. Perhaps you could start the invitations by saying that everyone has a day that means a lot to them in their lives, and [the date] will always be a very special day to you both, as it was the day that [your fiancés Dad’s name] was born. Then says that you both want to honour this special day by making it the day that you confirm your love for each other in front of your closest family and friends, and that you would like to share this very special day with them. Then include the usual time and place information.

I think it’s a lovely gesture, and I wish you all the very best for your married life together.

  4. I am going to assume that you and your fiance are paying for the wedding such that your parents' names do not need to be at the top. I also feel the importance of the day does not need to be in the invitation.
