  1. First, pick a number for x.  Any number.

    I'll pick x = 1

    Plug that into the equation and solve for y.

    y = 5(1) + 2

    y = 5 + 2

    y = 7

    So the ordered pair is (1, 7).

    You can do this with just about any number for x.

  2. giving an ordered pair that is a solution to an equation is just like saying give us a point that would be on this graph. so all you have to do is pick a random number to be x. plug it in the equation and get y.

    let x = 1

    y= 5x+2

    y = 5(1) +2

    y = 5+2

    y=7

    so when x=1, y=7. as an ordered pair, that is (1,7).

    let's do another using x=5

    y=5x+2

    y=5(5)+2

    y=25+2

    y=27

    answer: (5,27)

  3. choose a value for x in the equation and calculate y..

    for example, let x=0, so y=5(0)+2=2, so the point (0,2) is a solution to the equation...note that since this is a linear equation, there an infinite number of solution to this equation

  4. No steps involved. Just mathematical common sense. It will be

    (x, 5x+2) for any real x.

  5. first let x=0

    then y=2 so the first ordered pair is(0,2)

    then put x=1

    then y=7

    and son , u can have infinite number of ordered pairs like this
