Question:

How do I work up to doing a chin up again?

It's been years since I've done a chin up (probably about 10+ years). I'm pretty fit now, but don't have as much strength as I'd like. A friend of mine (a boxer) swears by body weight exercises. The push ups and squats I can easily modify to be easier while I'll getting started. But how do I make chin ups easier until I'm able to get up there myself again? Is there something I can do for a "cheater Chin up?"

  1. lat machines work great

if you are doing just bodyweight exercises try bodyweight rows, flexed arm hang, negative pull ups, or you could push off a little with your feet when doing real pull ups.
