How do I write Mobile number in international format, I live in sydney?

  1. You add 61 (for Australia) and drop the 0 from the beginning of the mobile number (actually the same applies for a landline number as well).


  2. Let's say your phone number is 0418 x*x x*x

    Your would write:

    +61 418 x*x x*x

  3. The international code for Australia is 61.

    Drop the 0 before the 4 in the mobile number

    Put a + in front of the 61. This represents the international dialling code which varies from country to country so the number would be +61 4 XXXXXXXX.

    It is the same as any other telephone number except that instead of a 4 you have 2 for NSW, 8 for SA, 7 for Qld etc.

    If you are ringing an international mobile you will need to dial 0011 then the country code for the country you are dialling then the mobile number without any initial 0.
