I'm going to be making some stories to put on YouTube.

How do I make sure that it is a good story and keep people interested?

And also how should I use description?

Can anyone give me any advice?

Much appreciated!

P.S- I'm writing a story about Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens... aka, ZANESSA.

  1. Your story needs interesting conflict to create drama people will care about.

  2. God, Why write a story about them two. It would be a waste of words.

  3. I thought I could write a good story till I took Con Sellers writing class. That was an Eye opener. But over a period of time I got great tips and good edits-you had to read every week for the class- and structure. So if you really have what it takes-a really thick skin- take a class.

Open your story where the first action is. (sound familiar-every movie starts this way).

You should be able to tell your plot in one sentence.(even a fairly long one) This will help keep you focused.

Outline--The equivalent of storyboarding in the movies. Draw 2 lines along a 10' piece of butcher paper. Top line is the time line.(It rules everything). Next is your story of the main character, below that is everybody  else.  Constantly check the time line against all the characters.

Use description to show a setting. like this "the big oak door squeaked" as opposed to "placing two hands and pushing the door opened and announced her presents to every one."

Finish with a bang. And have every chapter push you on to the next one.

  4. You have to plan your story beggining middle and end.

Write notes in each of these sections and decide what is going to happen in each of them then start writing in each of them. You use description when you want to say how someone looks e.g for zac "his eyes were so warm with love you could melt in them" you csanalso use it when describing a new place.

Use personification, alliteration and similes these read well.

Put in some cliffhangers to keep people interested. You should be on your way to writing a tremendous stories

  5. I feel that the best place to start any story or tale is to use ones own life's experience as the best starting point.

  6. two pieces of advice

1- the more you read the better you'll write.

2- the more you write the better you'll write

    enjoy

  7.      Have you decided yet what type of story it'll be?  Mystery?  Romance? etc.  Start off with something thrilling, exciting or shocking.  That 'hooks' the reader.  Write the details out first in a notebook and describe the characters.  Then, tell your story.

    Good luck
