How do I write a thank you letter for the scholarship I was rewarded?

I was awarded a scholarship and my school sent me a letter saying I should write a thank you letter. But I dont know how to , how do i do it? is there some template or something?

It doesn't have to be a long letter. Just basically say how thankful you are.

My brother had to write a letter to a scholarship foundation each term.  Basically he wrote

To Whom it May Concern:

My name is ______. I was reward a $5000 scholarship from your foundation. I want to thank you for your generosity, and kindness.  The scholarship is helping me attend college, and further my education. Again thank you for your wonderful generosity.

Sincerely,
