How do IT guys check on my view history even I have deleted all cookies?

Our company's computers are only allowed to use for work related purposes only. However, some of my co-workers do check personal e-mails or visit other sites from our company computers, and deleted all view history (like cookies etc) afterwards.

I was told that even if one deleted all view history, IT guys can still trace the view record. Is that true? If so, how do they do that? Do they need special software to do so?

  1. Servers see and log everything :)

  2. Cookies isn't histories, cookies is just the sites that you visited on the internet. They can always see the histories although you deleted the cookies.

Same as other companies, they log websites that you visited on another computer (server).

  3. User web activity is logged on the proxy servers, web filters, etc.  If they need to, they can also recover your web history from your workstation even if you delete.  Formatting the hard drive will not remove the data, you would have to wipe the drive completely, which would probably get you fired anyway.

  4. they log everything on the server.

even if you erase where youve gone and what you did. they have it stored elsewhere

  5. Why are you so worried about your history? Why, did you go to some pornographic sites? Remember, this is a company computer. Don't miss with it.

  6. - Everything is recorded on a server which they backup daily and it can be used as evidence for legal purposes.

  7. i was told that the computer is the property of the Company.
