  1. I don't know where you would be able to get one from a british site, but I wanted to tell you that I've had one and they're loads of fun.

Mine came in like a boxed set, and along with instructions it'll give you suggestions. They're usually on a theme and each person will play a certain character. Knowing their character in advance allows the to dress up, or for mine I didn't have them come in full costume. I just had them wear a piece or two of clothing/accessories that would support their character.

If you want to go all out, follow the theme of whichever mystery you get. Such as appropriate food, decor, and costumes. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

  2. slytherin girl when did you turn into mrs severus snape???

  3. You should be able to go to a toy store or a store that sells puzzles and games. In Canada we can buy them in these type of stores. The

cost about  $20.00 canadian. You buy the kind of murder mystery you want. There are lots of varieties like some set in Victorian times and some in the 1950s or on trains or planes or in offices or whatever

strikes your fancy. The box will tell you how many players you need

usually it is 8 people. They give descriptions of the characters and suggestions for costumes like: Lady Radcliffe mid 40s wears lots of jewellery smokes a cigarette in a long holder speaks with an upper

crust accent. So you can either pick out which character you want your friends to play or put their names in a hat and pick by choice. The fun thing about that is that sometimes you get guys having to play girls parts and vice versa. You don't have to rent or buy a costume just make one up out of stuff you have at home or that you can buy cheap from the thrift shop. Anyway you write out the invitations and give them all the information about their character etc. Try to make your house look like the site of where the murder was. (one time I got yellow ribbon and wrote POLICE LINE DO NOT CROSS and taped it across my front door like it was the murder scene) then when people arrive

you give them an envelope. The envelope is for each character and tells them a/ whether or not they are the murderer and b/ things that

only their character knows like if they were having an affair with someone or going bankrupt or something like that. Then when everyone arrives you go over the plot (there will either be a cd or

a booklet that you can read to everyone) then the game starts everyone stays in character and acts like them. They talk among themselves (if you are serving snacks and stuff this is the time to do it)

It usually is set in two or three acts. At the end everyone gets to announce who they think was the murderer and why and then the

real murderer has to reveal themselves. That is basically how it works but the instructions are really good and will give you much more detail. It is a lot of fun. Enjoy yourselves!!

  4. Hi, I've just written about 5 top websites each with a great selection of murder dinner, mystery parties and detective games kits for download. Of these 5 sites, one is from the UK, but as all these sites have kits for download - their products are available for immediate access once you've paid for them.

These sites have a variety of themes, for different sized parties and set in various time periods, they all have murder mystery party versions for children, teens and adults. Some of the sites have box sets as well as the option to buy and download the mystery parties packages. Plus there are plenty of free tips on these sites explaining what is a murder mystery party and how to host one.

  5. Most of the games are set up for 8 players, that's the most common. The game kit will usually have:

profiles on each character, along with suggestions for costumes

    Themed invitations

A CD that moves the action along and gives instructions to the guests

The party theme and setting, and suggested decorations and food

Story hints and clues. Often players will each have some information that is hidden from the other players.

Guests and host are supposed to stay in character for the entire time, especially when most of them have arrived.  The CD will narrate the story and give instructions. Guests should react in character and follow any instructions given. They converse to share and gather information, form alliances, and try and figure out who the murderer is. It's great fun.
