  1. Patriotism NOUN:

Love of and devotion to one's country.

    Nationalism NOUN:

Devotion to the interests or culture of one's nation.

I guess Patriotism would be "Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me "

    Nationalism would be "d**n immigrants!"

  2. Patriotism is love of one's country.

Nationalism is belief that one's country is superior to all others; the refusal to understand that almost everyone loves their own country.

  3. When someone says they are patriotic, they believe in the nation's identity, and when they say they are nationalistic, they believe also in the identity of the nation.

The only difference is the slight nuance that nationalism has with association with more "aggressive" elements.  Patriotism is more idealistic.  Nationalism - realistic.
