How do Pistachios Grow?

Do they grow on a tree in the ground or what?

They grow from small trees about 10 meters tall.  The pistachio are native to the mountainous regions of Iran, Turkmenistan and western Afghanistan.  When the fruit ripens, the husk changes from green to an autumnal yellow/red and the shells split partially open.

That's a good question. I'm pretty sur ethey grow in the ground. I'd love to plant one if they do though - Love pistachios
