  1. You should ask your doctor about taking it if you have brain cancer....

    SSRI inhibit the reuptake of serotonin. Basically extra seratonin (might not really be extra, but the brain thinks it is), is collected and either recycled or destroyed. SSRIs reduce or eliminate the collection of serotonin so there is more available to be absorbed by the receptors. Higher serotonin levels elevate mood in people with low levels.
