How do Scots (Gaelic speakers) pronounce the word GORM. Do ye say "Gorm" or "Gor'um" as we do in Ireland?

Gorm is the Scottish/Irish word for blue.

  2. we pronounce it gor'um aswell.  

  3. Gaelic pronunciation isn't so strict as to define this subtle difference. Its all about the extent that individuals (largely driven by their geographical area) roll there r's. Most Scots would believe they were saying 'Gorm', but most English ears would hear 'Gorum'.  There is a spectrum with Gorm, worm and other such words (worrids) from Gorm through Gorrrrm to Gor'um, or perhaps as often Gor'im.
