like if the get more viewers how does that get them more money

  1. Commercials/Advertisers.  They pay to have their commercials played on certain programs.  Obviously, the more popular the show, the more $$$ they get from the advertisers.

  4. They get their money from advertising dollars. The more people who watch, the more money the sponsors potentially make. When a TV show is a big hit The networks charge more money for the sponsors to advertise during that program. Take for instance the Superbowl.

    Millions upon millions of people watch that.

    An advertiser may spend 2 million dollars to advertise during the super bowl But the advertiser might make 5 million dollars as a result of people seeing those advertisements while watching the super bowl.

    More viewers means potentially more sales for the sponsors thus more sales means more money and finally more viewers means more money. Hope that helps.
