  1. 1$ = 0.73 euro.....it was about the same a year ago as the dollar i believe

  2. No matter what method you use, if you have to get Euro cash, you will pay out your nose since the dollar is sucking wind and the exchange rate stinks.  It won't much matter if you use checks, credit or other monetary instruments, bottom line is the dollar is weak and the exchange rate is not getting any better.  But, you can have a great time here, anyway.

  3. See website below for currency converter.  Rate varies dy to day  Today one U.S. dollar is worth .72 Euros.

  4. This can help you:

Be aware that although the exchange rate makes it seem that the Eurpoean Euro is worth more than the dollar, this is false.  Things are more expensive in Europe, a euro goes about as far as a dollar.

  5. I guess you are using your credit card or debit card and also using the AT M's. So every time you getting money or you are using your cards, paying stuff in Euro, your bank charging you in $ the money from your account.

By the way the Euro is very high and the $ is very low right now. I'm getting (US Military) for today was for 1 Euro $0,70cents.

  6. If you mean: How many US $$ you must pay to get 100 Euros € (they are valid in over 10 other European countries too) - it changes every day. Cf. papers, internet news/ information. Currently 100 Euros cost around 138 US $.

So, 100 US bucks will only give you 100 : 138 = 0,7. € (sorry have no calculator at hand).

If you mean how they change? That does not happen automatically. A serious bank will do, at a much better rate than street or airport "exchange" spots.

Anvil, you are hammered on in the wrong direction. If 100 € already cost 138 US $ and life was more expensive here - which depends much on the place! - something would cost even MORE US $$.

  7. You can use your debit card in any atm. I did that for a while and it is the least expencive.

  8. I would not change US $$ in Euros. The rate for cash is very bad. Better you buy Euro traveler cheques in the US. And use your credit card.
