  1. Interesting, I'm not digging up much. One article on the crown vetch had this to say:

    "The agent of dispersal is not known, however animals may play a role in dispersal since some populations have turned up miles from a nearby seed source. "

    Added: I found this as well, for the Tennessee Milk Vetch:

    "Seed pods are thick and spongy (styrofoam-like) and light in weight. They open at one end in the fall or winter after maturing and depend on wind and water to move them and cause seed dispersal out the pod opening. Many pods never move and depend on the rotting of the pod to release seed, taking up to 3 years."
