Question:

How do YOU get to sleep?

I often suffer from insomnia, usualy I can't sleep as my mind is active. I often think about various imagined scenarios to fall asleep. Do you have a similar method or no something else that works???

  2. Try Reading to sleep , and read something that you like even if its not helping It'll eventually help .  

  3. I often listen to some relaxing music or put on some white noise (e.g. rain sounds) CD.

I have had this my entire life too, I find putting a note pad at my bedside table to write stuff down that entered my mind was very helpful, otherwise I was awake all night trying NOT to forget it. Plus I too took a hot bath and drank some sleepy time tea before bed.. Secret is don't have your work space or play space in the room where you sleep your mind can get confused if you play video games in there all day and then try to sleep there at night, or if you work in there all day and then try to sleep. I had to move my work station to my dining table, and it helped me out a lot my mind finally knows my bedroom is for sleeping only!! On last resort my Dr told me to take some benedryl, I got the children's liquid and it does help make me sleepy. I try not to use it often, it can dry out your mouth and nose.  GOOD LUCK!   5. I drink Sleepytime tea and write in a journal.

  6. Try taking a shower before going to bed. It will relax you and help you get to sleep. Also, you may want to try a herbal tincture called valerian it gently helps you to sleep.

  7. Go to bed when you are ready to sleep but to be so ready to sleep engage in some activities that make you feel you want to sleep but don't sleep until you get that feeling to sleep, and eventually you will fall asleep!

  8. I have something simular to yours, some say that reading helps the mind to sleep.  

  9. I suffer from panic attacks, especially at night, and when i was younger and used to have them, I woukd play out episodes of FRIENDS in my head. Cuz friends is my feel good programme and i always knew them off by heart. It would help relax me until i fell to sleep. Weird, but it worked for me!

  10. I also suffer from insomnia and unfortunately I have to take medicine to help me sleep.
