  1. There are lots of different ways.  Here is a short list:

    1.  Use whitening toothpaste -- it's the least expensive method, but it will only get your teeth a few shades whiter.  Baking soda and peroxide toothpaste is good for whitening and for promoting healthy teeth and gums.  Colgate or Crest Whitening are relatively inexpensive and can usually whiten your teeth two shades.  Rembrandt Dazzling White can whiten your teeth up to five shades whiter.  It comes in a box with four small tubes of toothpaste and costs about $10.00 to $15.00 for a one-month supply.

    2.  Strips or mouth trays -- more expensive than toothpaste alone, but produces good results for most people.  My brother-in-law used Crest White Strips Premium and they worked well for him.  The cost for one set was around $25.00 when he used them.  Not sure if the price has gone down any.

    3.  "Mall" whitening -- Many major malls now have kiosks where you can have them whiten your teeth using peroxide and ultraviolet light.  Here in Michigan, it costs about $100.00 a treatment.  My wife has a friend who does it and she's going to do our teeth.  The results are supposed to be pretty dramatic.

    4.  Dentist -- Probably the safest since your dentist will make sure your teeth and gums are healthy enough for whitening before he/she does the treatment.  It's similar to mall whitening in that they use peroxide trays.  Some dentists use ultraviolet light, others use lasers.  It's also the most expensive.  Be prepared to pay at least $300.00 for the dentist to whiten your teeth.

P.S.:  If you use something other than toothpaste, you'll still have to maintain it later.  Whitening toothpaste with baking soda and peroxide is your best bet.  Be sure to brush at least twice a day.

  2. i use colgate total whiteing toothpaste :)

also brushing them twice a day does make them look whiter

  3. Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken. I found the information at http://www.aches.in/toothwhitening.html
