How do You get Over Writer's Block?

I've been trying to finish my book for over a year now, but I have the biggest case of writer's block. I have the document open and everything. I know where I want to go with the book, but I can't seem to get to it. I'm stuck in between chapters.

When you all have writer's block, how do you get over it?

  1. i read more. it gives me ideas. I am also writing a book and am kinda blocked. i have been reading like 5hours a day this week and i have written 2 more chapters.

  2. Same. Lol.

Try skipping chapters.  Skip a part in the plot you haven't really got mapped out yet and keep going from there.  Then, when you're done, or it comes to you, go back and put whatever you want to add in.

If I have writer's block where I'm trying to start a piece of writing, I usually start by writing down how I have nothing to write and it builds up from there.

    Good luck. :]

  3. Think of your favorite book. What did the author do that made is so great? What did you like about the characters, the plot, the setting? Write the book you'd want to read.
