the car is rough when driving when its wet. Are there ways to make the car obtain a better grip. Perferably cheap ways.

  1. i think. you can buy a sway bar to stiffen the frame so it doesnt warp through the turns and throw the back out.

    CHado

  2. I agree with olz431, also if possible. the wider the tire the better control it will have, grip wise. Hmmm a vet, not much room for wider tires.  I think it can't stick out of the fender more then three inches.

Check your local and state law at the DVM for that.

  3. In general, larger tires, softer rubber, higher hysteresis rubber and stiffer cord configurations increase road holding and improve handling.

On most types of poor surfaces, large diameter wheels perform better than lower wider wheels.

The fact that larger tires, relative to weight, stick better is the main reason that front heavy cars tend to understeer and rear heavy to oversteer.

The depth of tread remaining greatly affects aquaplaning (riding over deep water without reaching the road surface). Increasing tire pressures reduces their slip angle, but (for given road conditions and loading) there is an optimum pressure for road holding.

  4. TIRES!!!!!!!!!!

thats the best place you can put the money if you are looking for wet traction.... Good tires are not cheap though, sorry..... :(
