Can any one elaborate on this theory of a male and female adder that are mating? I once saw in a book of a pair of adders coiling around each other and almost standing on the ends of their tails.

  1. Its something i have never thought about to be honest.

I think what you have decribed does sound likely.

  2. It is perfectly likely for that to happen but they wouldnt stay that way the whole time they were mating...for the most part they lay next to each other and coil around each other and snake mating can often take days. i had red tails that mated for 3 days before they pulled apart.

Sometimes the male can be pretty rough but usually both are very docile towards each other while mating.

  3. i dunno...lol

  4. It's really a twisted affair.

  5. Nope. They lie down and get close up. Might be a bit of coiling.

  6. they stick the thing in the females dingdonghole.
