do actors on tv shows like the OC for example, do they memorize SOME lines and then if they forget they can just say CUT and they will stop the cameras? also, if they just reviewed some lines, would there be someone across the room like saying the lines to him or have a microphone in his/her ear? I don't understand how they can memorize lines so quickly like that, i mean they do episodes day by day..learning new lines

  1. They keep reading a lot like kinda studying and they practice and get help they memorize then id say at the last chance to read it they over and make sure they know it all

  2. Think about the actors in daytime dramas!  5 episodes a week, 10-12 hour work days.  It's part of what makes you qualified for the job.  Plus, there's always the teleprompter for the weaker actors.

The earphone, known as an IFB, isn't for that kind of information.  It's generally only used on live shows, and gives the Producer a way to get info to the host.

  3. They practice it with the other person in the play.Study it 5 times a week you will get the hang off it.
