  1. Airlines generally outsource food service to catering companies that specialize in preparing meals for flights. In fact, three companies dominate inflight food service catering: Dobbs International Services, LSG - Sky Chefs, and Caterair International. Caterers are awarded contracts and prepare the food in local kitchens, then deliver it to your awaiting plane. Preserving freshness is a particular challenge because your meal may have been prepared eight hours prior to the time it's served to you inflight.

  2. They go around to fast food chains and recycle their trash

  3. THE FOOD IS MADE BY CHEFS ON THE GROUND, THEY JUST REHEAT THE FOOD AND SERVE IT TO THE PEOPLE ON THE PLANE

  4. i think it depend on the airplane, for the cheap public ones.. all they did was open a box

as for the richer planes for important people... they have chefs

  5. Chito gives an excellent answer. I would add in the US another large caterer is Chelsea. Spelling could be wrong.

  6. Generally, in federally inspected kitchens by contactors

  7. i would say a conratactor...everybody contracts everything that has a liability attached.

  8. Most airlines use a company called LSG

    There is also Gate Gourmet

Gate Gourmet, the catering company at the centre of recent disruption at Heathrow, has been complaining in the media that it is cash strapped and at the mercy of the wildcat strikers.  Gate Gourmet is the second-largest airline catering company in the world, formed from the merger of several companies, including British Airways' own catering wing.

  9. they get there food cater to them`.it better

  10. they dont, they get a private contractor to do it

like gate gourmet and LST sky chefs

  11. For those of us who travel cattle class those little paper trays of goop are prepared by outside caterers, delivered sealed and ready to heat up on board.

Of course, if you are a CEO or politician you will get some real food prepared in the galley.
